ABOUT

A series of drawings and sculpture that illustrate the growing issue of mental health and to highlight the feelings brought about from suffering with depression . Each piece represents a personal journey that evokes scenes from traditional story books.

Prominently using pen and watercolour as well as polymer clay and acrylic paint, Andrew uses meticulous details in order to create ambiguous and surreal narratives.

All of the work has a figurative element either through direct representation or by the absence of one. Inspiration for the work comes from a combination of nostalgia and self reflection; looking at utilitarian structures, tree-houses and personal possessions, they are then brought together as tropes that give insight into the world of the artist.
